I'm a Melbourne based artist, writer and barrister.
I work across painting, sculpture, film and text. My work has been exhibited locally and internationally at places such as the Institute of Contemporary Arts (Singapore); Spring 1888 (Sydney); Fort Delta (Melbourne); Art Connect Headquarters (Berlin) and the Australian High Commission (Singapore).
Together with Nabilah Nordin, I make large-scale installations. We merge film and performance within loosely constructed sculptural sets. We’ve shown our work in abandoned warehouses, a chicken shop, a Singaporean ‘shophouse’, a court and an amphitheatre, as well as in a number of galleries locally and internationally.
You can find my writing on and offline, including in Art & Australia, un Magazine, Fireflies, The Lifted Brow, Rabbit Poetry Journal and Verge.
In 2017 I presented a paper with Julian R Murphy at the Art in Law in Art conference in Perth about the legal history of authorship. We focused on the American artist Richard Prince’s Instagram portrait of Ivanka Trump. It’s going to become a chapter in a book published by Edward Elgar in 2019 called A Research Handbook on Art and Law. We also made a video-essay / Internet Opera about it, which you can view here.
